Airaid debuts new cold-air intake systems for EcoBoost and 5.0-liter 2015 Mustangs

With S550 mania in full swing, you’ll want to start stockpiling your mods. Another new option on the intake side of things is a series of cold-air intakes for both 2.3-liter EcoBoost and 5.0-liter Mustang GTs from Airaid.

Airaid now offers its MXP Series induction systems for both the 2.3- and 5.0-liter 2015 Mustangs. The filter included in the kits is designed to flow up to 1,300 cfm and is available in either oiled or SythaMax dry filters in red, blue, or black. The kits range in price from $394.99 to $409.99.

“The new intakes feature a specially designed, one-piece, rotomolded intake box that draws cool outside air from the factory cold air duct location while having a unique shape that promotes airflow all the way around the filter,” says Airaid. “The all-new air box design utilizes a lid with a Plexiglass window that adds underhood styling while keeping the filter isolated from hot engine compartment air and allowing the user to keep tabs on filter condition.”

While the kits are basically the same, the EcoBoost kit features a 3.5-inch-diameter inlet tube, while the GT kit features a 4-inch inlet tube. The tubes feature a built-in velocity stack to improve airflow, but they are designed as direct-bolt-on, no-tune-needed systems.
