CJ Pony Parts shows how to install an air suspension on a 2013 GT500

If you have ever owned a lowered Mustang, you know that navigating the streets can be a challenge. Whether your are dodging potholes or avoiding speed bumps, it can take some of the fun out of rolling with that sick stance. Wouldn’t it be great if you could adjust your ride height on the fly?

In addition to the obvious struts, springs, and shocks, the full kit includes an air tank and all the necessary lines and wiring to complete the installation. Well, that’s just what you get when you install one of Air Lift Performance’s kits for 2005-2014 Mustangs. They offer front, rear, and complete kits. The front kits feature 30-way adjustable, monotube struts tuned specifically for the air springs. In the rear, progressive-rate rear springs and 30-way-adjustable shocks round out the system.

Our friends at CJ Pony Parts covered the installation of the top-of-the-line Digital Combo Kit (PN 95723), which should take about 8 hours to complete. They condensed it down into a video that is just under 30 minutes. If this kind of suspension intrigues you, watch the video right here:

Not only do the Air Lift struts offer on-the-fly adjustability, but the company says they are lighter than traditional coiled struts. The struts include adjustable camber plates as well, so you can properly dial in your car’s alignment.

Of course, don’t just think this setup is only for show. Air Lift Performance is quite clear that this system was designed to handle on the road course as well.
