It’s official, the first run of next-gen Shelby GT350 and GT350Rs will be produced in the 2015 model year. However, there will only be a limited run to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Shelby GT350.

Only 100 Shelby GT350s will be constructed as part of the 2015 model year, and they will be evenly split between the Technology Package and the Track Package.

“Fans of the Shelby brand are among the most passionate in the automotive industry,” Henry Ford III, Ford Performance marketing manager, said. “To honor the passion of our fans for Shelby GT350’s 50th anniversary, a limited run of GT350 models will be built in 2015; these cars will be highly coveted by both Mustang and Shelby enthusiasts alike.”

They will be so coveted because the production run will make them quite rare. Only 100 Shelby GT350 models will be produced in the 2015 model year before production moves to 2016 models. Of the 100 produced, the vehicles will be split evenly between the Technology Package and the Track Package, with 50 of each constructed.

The 2015 Shelby GT350R will be even rarer, with only 37 being constructed.

When it comes to the R-model, we knew it would be rare. However, for 2015 it will be ultra-rare, with only 37 being built to commemorate Carroll Shelby.

All 2015 Shelby GT350s will wear a 2015 VIN, signifying their rarity.

So, if you were hoping to get a 2015 Shelby GT350 you had best have secured it already, otherwise you’ll be waiting for a 2016.
