Chapter Three

Ford is back with a behind-the-scenes look at S550 engineering

By Steve Turner

If you have been following along, Ford has released a once-a-week series of videos that give an inside look at the 2015 Mustang engineering process. The series kicked off with the interior design, and last week we got some perspective on the exterior design. However, this week’s installment is the one we’ve been waiting for. It looks at the car’s engineering.

If you've ever wanted to be a fly on the wall while engineered a Mustang, Ford's latest video gives you that chance.
If you’ve ever wanted to be a fly on the wall while a Mustang is engineered, Ford’s latest video gives you that chance.

In this week’s video, we get to hear from several of members of Ford management as well as the engineers in the trenches that developed and tested the vehicle. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the video is seeing an S197 test mule equipped with the S550 suspension being tested. Then we get to see those infamous camouflaged S550s lap the test track.

But, enough talking about the video, you can enjoy it right here…

Next week, the series winds down with the 2015 Mustang’s big public reveal, which should just get us hyped up for the next new Mustang reveal.
