Are you trying to decide what exhaust setup you want for your 2015 Mustang? Like choosing the perfect wheel combo, picking the exhaust that will deliver a note that suits you is a critical decision. To make sure it delivers the right sound at the right time, you have to track down exhaust videos, ride in friends’ cars, and ask fellow SVTP members for their exhaust opinions.

Roush used a four-wheel dyno to demonstrate the sounds offered by the Touring, Sport, and Track modes offered by the Active Exhaust on a 2015 Roush Stage 3 Mustang. Eventually, the company promises that it will have software available that will allow uses to create custom exhaust maps, so you can create just the sound you like for your Mustang.

Eventually, the company promises that it will have software available that will allow uses to create custom exhaust maps, so you can create just the sound you like for your Mustang.

Even with all of that input, you still have to pick one that suits you and hope that it sounds as good every day as it did that one time you heard it. Well, if you are the kind of person that has a hard time narrowing things down. The kind who always orders the sampler. There might just be a new exhaust option that will suit your fickle needs.

Roush Performance is offering Active Exhaust technology on its 2015 Roush Mustangs, and the company recently shared a video that demonstrates how a Roush Stage 3 sounds when you engage its three available exhaust modes—Touring, Sport, and Track. That’s right. You don’t have to choose just one. Check out the video right here…

That’s pretty cool right. Well, what’s even cooler is that you should soon be able to add Roush’s adjustable rumble to your 2015 Mustang GT or EcoBoost. That’s because the company is offering Active-ready axle-back systems for the GT (PN 421920; $1,034.99) and the turbo four (PN 421922; $1,034.99).

You don’t have to own a new Roush Mustang to get active exhaust technology. The company’s Quad Tip Exhaust upgrades for both the 2015 EcoBoost and Mustang GT are deemed Active-ready, so the technology will eventually be available as an aftermarket upgrade.

“The Roush Quad Tip is an axle-back exhaust with high-flow, dual-tip mufflers; corrosion-resistant, T-304 stainless steel; and high-flow mandrel bends. (The) dual-wall-chrome flashed tips fit perfectly with the 2015 Roush Mustang Rear Valance,” says the company. “This is an ‘Active Ready’ Kit, so you can easily upgrade this exhaust to utilize Roush Performance’s Active Exhaust Module (Coming Soon)…”

What’s even cooler is the company is working on software that will allow you to further customize the tone of the Active Exhaust to your liking. That opens up a world of great possibilities, so we can’t wait to see how this technology evolves.
