Leaked Shelby GT350 and GT350R pricing reveals bigÂ bang for the buck

Information definitely wants to be free. If there is something that people want to know about, it seems it will find its way onto the Internet. Over the last several days some of the hotly anticipated pricing for the Shelby GT350 and GT350R leaked out, and the numbers are downright dazzling. If you can score a new Shelby GT350 without a dealer markup, it might just be the performance bargain of a lifetime.

Though it adds $13,500 to the base price of a Shelby GT350, the GT350R option looks oh so worth it. If you want to add air conditioning and in-car entertainment back into the R, that will cost you another $3,000.

Thanks to some of the SVTP member sleuths we got a complete look at the pricing for all the various options, and these numbers are pretty exciting.

When you consider that the last corner-carving super â€™Stang that Ford releasedâ€”the Boss 302â€” retailed for around $42,000, the $47,870 base price (900A) for the forthcoming Shelby GT350 seems like a dream come true. When you consider that the modern Mustang GT has already eclipsed the Boss, the Shelby GT350 should set a whole new standard for a road-course-worthy Mustang, which would seem to merit the $6,000 difference.

If you are planning to order a new Shelby GT350, here are all the pertinent numbers for you to see what options will fit into your performance-car budget.

Of course, if you are going to step up your new GT350 with more handling or more toys, itâ€™s going to cost you. Both the Technology (67T) and Track (60T) packages add full palette of additional options, but they will cost you. Stepping up the tech will set you back another $7,500, while sharpening the handling will add $6,500 to your window sticker.

Now, if dominating the racetrack is in your plans, youâ€™ll want to jump up to the GT350R (920A), and that option will tack on $13,500, but deliver all the carbon fiber, weight reduction, and handling improvements available on this car. If you plan to live a balanced life of street and track driving in your GT350R, youâ€™ll probably want to add back in air conditioning and in-car entertainment. That Electronics Package (67S) option will add another $3,000 and make for the priciest, but most optioned GT350R you can get.
