Owners of Ford F-150 pickups with EcoBoost engines know how impressive these gas direct-injection turbo engines are. We had the chance to drive the 2.7-liter version at the EcoBoost Challenge and we couldn’t get over how it out-torqued its V-8-powered Brand X competitor. However anyone reading this knows that what’s good stock is better modified.

With a DiabloSport InTune (pictured) or Trinity handheld tuner you can load one of six preloaded calibrations to improve the performance of your EcoBoost 2015 Ford F-150.

If you are looking for more power from your EcoBoost-equipped truck, the tuners at DiabloSport have new performance calibrations for both the 2.7- and 3.5-liter trucks. Delivered by an InTune or Trinity handheld device, these tunes are designed to increase performance no matter what fuel you are burning, and there’s even a tune to help you burn less fuel. It is said to increase fuel economy by 3 mpg.

“Our calibration team toiled over the tuning for the 2015 trucks to make sure users get the best mix of performance gains, fuel economy increases, and drivability improvements while maintaining the reliability you’ve come to expect out of your F-150,” says the company. “Our power programmers have tons of options for you to pick from, whether you want to run regular or premium from the pump, we’ve got you covered with tuning options for 87, 91, and 93 octane.”

With 93-octane pump gas in the tank and a matching DiabloSport tune, a 2015 F-150 with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost is said to pick up 40 horsepower and 70 lb-ft of torque.

Depending on which fuel you choose and which engine your truck has, these calibrations are said to deliver gains of 30-70 horsepower and 60-100 lb-ft of torque. There’s even a preloaded calibration designed to improve your truck’s towing performance, which is said to put down an additional 30 horsepower an 60 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels.

“Whether you’re towing a Fifth wheel trailer, or hauling cement, our tune ensures increased power delivery throughout the entire rpm range,” the company added. “The throttle will feel more responsive, making it a breeze to get up to speed on the highway or over that steep hill.”

And, even if you want to just tweak a few things and leave the factory calibration intact, you can opt for the Factory HP Tune. With this and all the other DiabloSport calibrations, you can tweak the computer settings for the tire size, gear ratio, rev limiter, speed limiter, shift firmness, spark timing, cooling fan control, idle rpm, and more. You can even disable the Auto Start/Stop feature on 2.7-liter trucks.
