The Ford event of the summer has arrived—Mustang Week 2015! SVTP has yet again put together several events around the official Mustang Week festivities to help you maximize your automotive vacation fun, so don’t miss out on a chance to hang with SVTP!
To coordinate your plans with fellow SVTPers, please check out the official thread on our forum. For now, however, let’s get right into the official SVTPerformance schedule of events for this year.
Monday, July 13th
The 3rd Annual SVTPerformance Welcome to Mustang Week Happy Hour
For the third year, SVTP will be hosting a Welcome to Mustang Week at Myrtle Beach Happy Hour. Our 2nd Annual Welcome Party, held last year, was such a hit that we have outgrown our previous venue—Spanky’s Pub House. Spanky’s is a great place and will continue to serve the SVTP Mustang Week crowd all week, but we just needed a bit more elbow room this year’s event. That’s why we’re moving a few miles down the beach to the newly opened Tupelo Honey Cafe in The Market Common.
Tupelo Honey Cafe has some of the best food on the Grand Stand and features 22 craft beers on tap; along with draft Gin and Tonic, Whiskey Ginger, and Bloody Marys. I’m particularly fond of the Appalachian Egg Rolls, NC Country Ham Wontons, Shoo Mercy Cheesy Grill, and the Fried Chicken and Biscuits. Pair any of those with an ice-cold draft beer and you’ll have my idea of a great meal.
We will be on the large patio area in front of the restaurant, and we have reserved SVTP member parking in a well maintained grassy area across the street. If you’re in town early for Mustang Week this party is a great opportunity to get out and meet other SVTP members. You’ll know you have the right place by seeing the SVTP banner out front. We’ve arranged the following food and drink specials:
• Craft Pints from local and world renowned breweries, $3
• Craft Martinis, $4
• Whiskey Ginger and Honey Chamomile Gin & Tonic draft cocktails, $5
• Select small plates like Country Ham Wontons and Pecan Crusted Goat Cheese w/ Grilled Apples and Braised Figs, $6
Tuesday, July 14th
SVTPerformance Presents: The 2nd Annual Pizza at The Cruise-In
This is our second time organizing a companion event to the annual Mustang Week Cruise-In at The Palace Theater. During the latter part of the MW Cruise-In the SVTP crew will be posted up at Mellow Mushroom, which is just a short walk directly across 21st Avenue from The Palace Theater. This event is open to all SVTP members, regardless of their vehicle. We want to include as many of our great forum members as possible. Mellow Mushroom is home of the best pizza in Myrtle Beach, and has a selection of 30 beers on draft. SVTP will be providing pizza and wings, so stop by for some free food and a cold beer.
Location: Mellow Mushroom
Time: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday, July 15th
The 8th Annual SVTPerformance Burnout Contest
It simply wouldn’t be Mustang Week without the Annual SVTPerformance Burnout Contest. This is our eighth year hosting this event that definitely gets bigger and more exciting every year. If you’re unfamiliar with how awesome The SVTP Burnout Contest is, check out our coverage of the 2014 edition of the event: Mustang Week 2014 : SVTPerformance.com Burnout Competition.
Needless to say, this is probably the wildest spectacle you’ll see during all of Mustang Week. There’s no other event at Mustang Week that rewards winner with a free set of Race Star Wheels for letting it all hang out and showing off for the crowd. The crowd determines the winner, so the more you can do to rile them up the better. Creativity is highly recommended. All participants receive gift bags and the contest is open to all Ford vehicles.

The 5th Annual SVTPerformance Ready To Rock Night
Powered by SCT & Fueled by Monster Energy
Featuring Special Guests:
• Vaughn Gittin Jr.—Three-Time World Drift Champion
• Mike Murillo—14-Time World Champion Drag Racer
• Dean Martin—Five-Time American Iron Champion Road Racer
• Nina Gusler—NMRA Truck and Lightning Champion
This is our fifth year hosting our annual SVTPerformance Ready To Rock Night. Due to the resounding success of the 2014 party we will not only be returning to The Deck at The House of Blues for Mustang Week 2015, we are completely taking it over. That’s right, we are closing the place down to the public and opening it up exclusively for SVTP members. Just see the SVTP staff at any of our displays or events during Mustang Week to get your entry wristband.
Not only that, with a little help we are taking this party the an entirely new level. We’ve partnered with SCT Performance, Mustang RTR, and Monster Energy to bring you a completely one-of-a-kind experience. Not only will you have the opportunity to meet and have a drink with some true Mustang performance heroes, you’ll be surrounded by the beats of the Monster DJ. To help the party keep going late into the night the Monster Energy will be on deck handing out free energy drinks. We’ll have areas setup for Flip Cup, Corn Hole, and Beer Pong. (Free advice, Dean Martin is a corn hole savant, so challenge him at your own risk.)
As always, the event is Friday night after the Mustang Week Car Show. The Deck is an awesome spot is hangout, have a drink at the Craft Beer Lagoon, and enjoy some great food. Speaking of food, SVTP is providing a small buffet for SVTP members attending the party. There’s no cover charge at the door with an entry wristband, plenty of free parking (extra lot behind Alligator Adventures), free food, and a great atmosphere. We are hoping to see a lot of SVTP members and Mustang fans make it out and enjoy all that The House of Blues has to offer.
