With all the excitement about the Coyote and EcoBoost combinations in the latest Mustang, it would be easy to overlook the fact that there is still a V-6 Mustang. Fortunately, the centrifugal supercharger gurus at ProCharger did not forget about the 3.7-liter Mustang. In fact, the company has created an intercooled supercharger system that’s ready to pump up your base Mustang with 8 pounds of boost—and even more if you add the supporting hardware.

ProCharger’s new HO supercharger system for the 2015 Mustang V-6 promises horsepower improvements of 50 to 60 percent from only 8 pounds of boost! Designed specifically for the S55 V-6, this kit is said to offer a complete bolt-on installation with no permanent mods to the car, and the kits will be shipping in the near future.

“We took a clean sheet approach to this new 2015 platform, and created not only the most powerful supercharger system out there, but one that is as easy to install as the previous 2011-14 system,” says the company. “That is correct, as always, no cutting, drilling, bending, tweaking, prying, or whatever is needed to install this all-new ProCharger 3.7-liter supercharger system! This system comes boxed up, 100-percent ready to bolt-on and go! (Even down to the engine ECU programing.)”

By installing this kit, ProCharger is promising horsepower gains of 50 to 60 percent with only 8 pounds of boost. If you want even more power, you can choose a tuner kit. When you opt for the tuner kit, you’ll need to supply the necessary tuning and fuel system upgrades to support additional power. Of course, if you want to step things up, you might want to consider the larger intercooler option as well.

The ProCharger system for the latest V-6 Mustang features a dedicated belt drive, which ensures slip-free boost and opens the door for easy upgrades to more potent ProCharger supercharges, like the D-1SC and the racy F-1C.

“Since we do know there will be those that push the boost levels on these 3.7-liters way up with the use of race fuel or E85, the 1,200-horsepower intercooler option is calling your name. So for those of you ordering tuner kits at elevated boost levels, we have the plug-and-play intercooler solution ready for you out of the gate,” the company added. “Both the standard intercooler and the 1,200-horsepower units feature the highest quality, American-crafted intercooler cores, and lightweight sheetmetal end tanks. Charge cooling is kept at an absolute maximum, while keeping flow levels high, and weight down.”

Besides the intercooler upgrade, other options include quieter helical gear drives (for P-1SC-1 and D-1SC head units), larger D-1SC or F-1C superchargers, and polished or black finishes on the blower and bracketry.

ProCharger says these new 2015 Mustang V-6 kits will be shipping soon, and we can’t wait to see how they perform.
