Most of us reading this page might occasionally stretch the legs on our Ford performance machines beyond the number on the posted sign. That number is a recommendation, right? In any event, the crew at Steeda Vehicles has developed a new Police Interceptor package that might just encourage you to drive 55.

Don’t think you’ll always be able to see a Steeda Police Interceptor from a mile away, as the company’s Undercover Series lacks any badging or nomenclature, and the lights are hidden in true undercover style.

“The Steeda Police Interceptors are tested and proven law enforcement vehicles that reflect the do-anything commitment of Law Enforcement Agencies,” Dario Orlando, President of Steeda Autosports, said. “We’ve selected specific components from that have been extensively race and track tested—leaving nothing to chance for law enforcement agents.”

You can’t out-run the radio, and you definitely won’t be able to outrun a Steeda Police Interceptor, as these Mustangs are based on the company’s hopped-up Q500 and Q750 Mustang packages. So in addition to all the law-enforcement gear, these Police Interceptors will wear the same performance upgrades and handling improvements as Steeda’s serialized Mustangs for civilians. And, yeah, the Q750 version wears a Whipple supercharger!

For higher-profile law-enforcement jobs, Steeda also offers a traditional black-and-white package with full badging and lights.

These vehicles are available now via select Ford dealers so don’t be surprised if you see a Steeda Mustang in pursuit with its lights flashing in the near future.
