Want a rear seat in your GT350R? Ford Performance Parts can help

Last September we first got wind that Ford Performance would be offering a rear-seat upgrade kit for the Shelby GT350R by way of its inclusion in the car auctioned at the Cattle Baron’s Ball to benefit the American Cancer Society. The kit landed on the Ford Performance Parts website last November and we shared the news here. Now that the GT350Rs have hit the streets, Ford is offering an official reminder that the kit is available.
The R-model is geared toward the track. It is built for speed and eschews the creature comforts. If you want the best of both worlds, you can opt for the Electronics Package, which adds back in air conditioning, an audio system, and Sync 3.0. However, the one thing you can’t order in a GT350R from the factory is a rear seat.
“We always listen to customer feedback,†Dave Pericak, global director, Ford Performance, said. “So when many requested a back seat for their GT350R, we acted quickly to make it available.â€
This kit includes the upper and lower rear seat, which is adorned with the same Alcantara upholstery and signature red stitching found on the Shelby GT350. It not only comes with the hardware to install the seat, but it also includes the seat belts to make your R-model’s rear passengers as safe as they would be in a standard GT350.
The 2015-2016 Mustang GT350R Rear Seat Installation Kit (PN M-63840-MS) carries a list price of $999, and Ford Performance recommends that you take your GT350R to an authorized dealer or service center to ensure that all the safety equipment is properly installed.
